Mohammad Hasibul Hasan is a chemical engineer, water treatment professional & a research loving personnel.
Engr. Hasan, completed his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (2015) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). During the senior years of his undergrad level & onward (March 2014 - October 2015), he worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in Quantitative Environmental Biotechnology (QEB) Research Group led by Dr. Shoeb Ahmed, an Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET. During this tenure, his team worked on Studies & development of quantitative methods of Medical & Biological Image Analysis using Matlab. In March (2016), Engr. Hasan joined an US based specialty chemical manufacturer & service provider company Buckman in Water Technologies & Performance Chemicals division as Bangladesh Account Engineer. He was promoted as a Senior Account Engineer in Water Technologies division in March (2019). During his time at Buckman, he was assigned with responsibilities of system surveying, assessing corrosion, scaling, fouling & biological growth type problems, conducting laboratory analysis of water samples, designing system specific water treatment program ensuring water, energy, environmental conservation. His responsibilities consists treatment of total Industrial Utility system i.e. Boiler water system, Closed & Open Recirculating Cooling water System, Reverse Osmosis system, Waste Water System, Clarifier & Water treatment plants. These treatment programs mainly focus on preventing energy, heat loss due to insulating deposits on metal, optimum transfer performance of heat-exchangers, increase water cycles to reduce water loss & reducing environmental foot-prints of serving industries. From (2016) to (2020), he has visited more than 180 different industries in Bangladesh of different sectors i.e. Power, Fertilizer, Steel, Cement, Process Chemical, Textile, Refineries, Sugar mills etc. Engr. Hasan wants to establish himself as a renowned Water Treatment expert of Bangladesh, being a technical know-how personnel, providing significant Return towards environment, industrial productivity, maximizing cooling, heating efficiencies by alleviating common water related problems.
Engr. Mohammad Hasibul Hasan wants to address different socio-economic issues of Bangladesh & his field of interest aims to solve water, energy crisis, waste management & environmental-sustainability. Being a professional of water treatment field, his interests are not only confined to Water Treatment but also expanded to different topics to ensure environmental sustainability. He has keen interest on research work related to water chemistry, membrane technology, sclaing index, waste water treatment, waste management, Refuse derived fuel, pollution control, simulation, Matlab programming etc. Mohammad Hasibul Hasan is planning to work on these topics & looking for a successful research oriented career in upcoming days.

Some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)s:
Q1. After Completing Graduation in Chemical Engineering discipline, why are you in Water Treatment technical sales/service related job instead of joining industries to learn the magics of operation, maintenance? A1: There is a saying that, in Industrial Water Treatment service, every single day is different. I completely agree with that & I chose to stay in this career because, this wide diversified day to day experience, gives me the rare opportunities to learn, explore, analysis & solve different problems, in different industries. Working in this field, I've been able to visit fertilizer, power plants, oil refineries, gas fields, cement, steel, chemical industries, textile mills, sugar mills & many different types of processes facing different problems, challenges regularly. This really helps me to gain more knowledge, become more resourceful in this field for troubleshooting/problem solving. So, instead of handling or operating & learning a single industry, I really prefer to focus on being expert of this single field & like this everyday challenges, new problems to solve in a new industry. It's really exciting & gives me the pleasure. Q2. Well, But why Water Treatment then? Why not other service oriented topics? A2: Well, I always had the intention to address some issues or crisis of the society, country or world & make my job, studies purposefully inclined to solve some of them. But somehow, I really didn't planned about choosing water treatment during my BSc. I would probably elaborate my BSc dissertation & work more on waste management or waste to energy addressing threatening problem of burdensome-waste management in my country with densely populated cities, or would work on simulation-computational methods, which was something I was really liked. Since Joining Buckman, I was able to visit many industries & had hands-on experience that how our water is misused, how lack of knowledge, attention in water treatment causing damages, wasting invaluable energy, water & affecting our environment. Whereas we are living in a age where energy, water crisis are more than ever. This sort of things really touched me & now I want to become an expert of this field to contribute for the society. Q3. Why do you intend to involve with research? How can you incorporate research with your aim to be an water treatment expert? A3: Okay, that's a real good question. Well, I think, research is something that can really contribute & add values in the entire field. My current responsibilities to exploring & solving water treatment problems can help building my expertise, experience & thus contribute to industries to some extent, but to make a real contribution for this I think there is nothing better than involving in research sector & give some really new & useful inputs. |
